Membership Rights, Benefits and Privileges

A regular member of the Society in good standing is entitled to the following rights, benefits, and privileges:

(a) To attend and vote at the annual general meeting and any special general meeting of the Society;

(b) To receive notice of the annual general meeting and all special general meetings of the Society together with the text of any special resolutions to be advanced at such meetings;

(c) To receive a copy of any agenda presented, or to be presented, at any Board of Directors Meeting, annual general meeting or special general meeting of the Society;

(d) To attend any meeting of the Board of Directors or portion thereof that is not designated “in camera”;

(e) To bring forward items of new business for consideration on any regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Directors on seven days written notice to the Secretary, or in the absence of the secretary, to the vice-president;

(f) To inspect such records of the Society as are required to be maintained by the Societies Act or the Society’s Regulations at the Society’s registered office during regular business hours;

(g) To stand for election to the Board of Directors of the Society. *(A non-resident associate member is not eligible to stand for election to the Board of Directors)

MLCS Membership Residents

To be eligible for a regular membership in the Society, you must:

a. Be 19 years of age or older.

b. Currently reside in Marsh Lake or rent/own property at Marsh Lake.

c. Uphold the Society’s Constitution and comply with the Society’s Bylaws.

 
 

MLCS Membership Non-Residents

To be eligible for a non-resident associate membership in the Society, you must:

a. be 19 years of age or older

b. Be a former resident of Marsh Lake for a period of 4 years or more or

c. Maintain a substantial connection to the Marsh Lake community through regular participation in Marsh Lake community activities and events

d. All members are obligated to uphold the Society’s Constitution and comply with the Society’s Bylaws.
